ASTM F2098 is standard specification for securing SDR9 Cross-linked Polyethylene (PEX) Tubing to metal insert or plastic insert fittings utilizing stainless steel clamps.It prescribed requirements for materials, workmanship, dimensions and marking of the stainless steel clamps; requirements for deforming the clamps and specifications of the insert fittings. Covered by this specification, the assemblies can afford 100 psi ,and up to 180 °F.  The clamps are used in, but not limited to, residential and commercial, hot- and cold-water distribution systems, reclaimed water, fire protection, municipal water service lines, radiant heating and cooling systems.
